Why is Seton Village So Affordable?
Seton Village is so affordable because the Sister of Charity, the sponsors of the project, were chosen by New York State to participate in a program that provides funding to build affordable housing.
Who is Sponsoring Seton Village?
Seton Village is sponsored by a religious congregation with a record of serving seniors. Seton Village has been developed and will be operated by the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul of New York which has developed and currently operates over 350 housing units, the majority for seniors, throughout the New York area. This track record and the congregation’s experience in health care and social services combine to give the Sisters of Charity a unique ability to offer homes which are comfortable, secure and allow access to a range of supportive services.
How Can I Apply for an Apartment?
To apply, you simply fill out an application. The application will be reviewed to determine your eligibility. If you are qualified, you will be asked to visit the rental office for an interview and to provide additional information to help verify your income. How is Seton Village Being Funded?
The development of Seton Village has been made possible through funding from the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal and from the Rockland County Office of Community Development.
How old does one have to be to qualify to be a resident of Seton Village?
One of the household members has to be at least 55 years of age.
How many residents can live in an apartment at Seton Village?
The maximum number of residents in an apartment is two.
